I have been wanting to write this post for a long time but always seem to forget! Those of you who know me would agree with me when I say that I am really good at getting deals and using coupons. I have a great coupon story to share with you; it would make my mommy proud.
Nicholas and I went to Buca Di Beppo several months ago for lunch. I had received 2 coupons in the mail within weeks of each other and brought them both along with me because it said that they could be used with each other (A 10 dollar off and a 5 dollar of coupon). We decided to use our coupons for lunch before hitting an afternoon movie and see if we could get a cheap meal.
Now, here is what we ended up doing. Those of you who have been to Buca know you get warm bread and oil/vinegar complimentary so we ate that as an appetizer and ordered water with lemon for our drink. Then, we split a meal (Large stuffed shell plate) and each got a side Caesar salad to compliment our carby pasta and bread. I made sure that our pasta plate and salads were within my 15 dollar limit and was delighted to see that the bill came to $14.97. We handed the waitress our coupons and waited for her to return with the remaining balance (I figured tax was not included.). I was surprised to see that we owed 0.00 after our coupons!!! I guess tax is figured in after promos are taken off. Our waitress smiled and said she had never seen anyone do that well with lunch in terms of cost. We left a 3 dollar tip on the table and walked out, beaming from ear to ear. Buca paid for our date day lunch completely!!! :o)
I was proud of myself for utilizing the coupons so effectively, and because of that saved the receipt to show my mom. Haha I know I am a dork. I took a picture of it and have attached it as proof of our coupon adventure! :P
I encourage everyone to utilize coupons in their lives, especially at restaurants. You will be surprised at how much you can save.
