Our first Christmas married :)

Hey all!

Here is a recap of the glorious day's events with coordinating pictures:

We woke up at about 7am and I jumped up and down on the bed yelling "Christmas Time" until I got Nick out of bed. Then, I started a pot of water for hot Chocolate and got our presents put on the table from under the tree. I let Nick open his first, and boy was he surprised. I got him Assassin's Creed, a video game for XBox 360. I also got him a padfolio for his work, and a basket full of stuff to go on a picnic. He got me Super Mario Galaxy, the TV series Band of Brothers, and the soundtrack from the movie Rainman. We sipped on hot chocolate and tested out our games.
Nick was happy to open his presents! :)

Then, we headed over to my parents house to give them their gifts and in turn got spoiled with gifts. I can't even mention everything, it was so much good stuff! :) After hanging out there for a while, we jetted back home so I could frost the cake I made for Christmas lunch, and then headed over to my Grandma's house. Over there, we met up with not only my family, but my Aunt, Cousin, Uncle, Step-Aunt, and Grandma. We ate a yummy lunch of ham, potatoes, brocolli, rolls, etc etc. Then, opened more presents and hung out for a bit. Oh, and guess what? Nick hadn't EVER done a wishbone wish!!! My grandma had one from the turkey from thanksgiving, and let Nick and I do it. It was so much fun, and of course I won. :PNick and I getting ready to pull the wish bone, so exciting!

Then, that night, we ate miso soup for our first Christmas dinner... how unique!!!! And then, went to Heather and Jason's house to watch Ratatoulli. It was cute. :) What a wonderful first Christmas, with my wonderful husband Nicholas. :) Mmm, miso soup!

A sad observation

So, I decided to go through my music tonight, erase what was currently on my i-pod nano and restart fresh. There were a lot of songs with negative memories behind them. Does that make sense at all? So, I have just over 2000 songs in my itunes library, quite a bit if I do say so myself. Well, I surprised myself to find out that out of those 2033 songs, I only find 620 worthy to put on my i-pod! Only 1/4 of my music is actually listened to on a regular basis. And don't think I am close minded to music. I have anything from oldies to rap to country to pop to rock on there. I even made sure to put about 50 new songs on that sounded good to add to my list. I advise anyone out there to go through their music... you'd be surprised at how much of it is garbage. Ta ta for now!

Laugh, Cry, and Laugh some more....

AMAZING SONG....LISTEN! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree

It's our first Christmas, and last week we put up our tree. We have it all decorated and lit up, and it's definitely cute. :) The only thing about it that is non traditional is the fact it is totally curved. We had to prop up the base with towels, and turn it so it looks semi straight. Hehe, its interesting. :) What a perfect first Christmas for us as a married couple!!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Surprised with some of my favorite things!

Ok, so I had been having a cruddy morning, and had to go down to school to take a final. That made the morning even worse. I snapped at Nicholas multiple times, and felt like crap on the way down to school. I was tired, and cranky, and stuck in traffic.

Once I got to school, my final went awesome. My teacher wrote me a wonderful note showing how much she appreciated me and how special I was. I got a peppermint frapp from starbucks. Mmm caffeine. Oh, and did I mention Nicholas had been writing me loving text messages all morning long. I am so blessed to have a husband who continues to show you love even when you are in a snappy mood and not being very nice to him. :)

So, I walk in the door and what do I see?

My lovely husband has bought me a cute little pot of flowers (so they stay alive and I can keep them forever!) that include roses and carnations. He also got me a card that says he loves me with all his heart. And to top it all off, he got me a whole box of chocolates. What an amazing man!! :) Oh, and to make the day even better he took time out of his work day to take me to get yummy submarine sandwiches from our local deli. AMAZING! :) I love him with all my heart, and am so blessed to have stumbled upon such an awesome man.

That's all for now. I love him, for sure!

Update on Woot.com

We ended up buying a brand new Tivo remote for 99 cents (and 5 dollar shipping and handling). Sweetness! The Woot-off is over. Hope everyone had fun!

WOOT

Ok, there is this FREAKING AWESOME SITE called woot.com that has ridiculously good deals on one item a day. But, guess what? Today they are having a woot off, which means they have great deals all day long. As soon as one item sells out they put up another one! How sweet is that! :) Needless to say, I am going to be monitoring this constantly all day long (Thanks Lover) and seeing if there are any good things. :P

I will keep you updated if I buy something! :) Woot!!!!

My first haircut as a married woman

So, I know there are tons of first for newlyweds. One that happened today was my first haircut being married. I am quite happy with the result, and Nicholas loves it :) YAY. I am gonna test it out tonight when we go to the movies (which is another first all in itself).

Tell me what you think.

A new family has arrived in our condo complex!

So, Nicholas and I went and got celebratory Coldstone ice cream on Monday night (for our fire claim report blessing) and upon our return noticed something. We saw a little head pop out from behind the dumpster. We thought it was a cat so we called it, and it turned out to be a raccoon! Nicholas freaked out because he thought it was going to attack me (isn't he sweet) but i wasn't scared.

So, we call our friend Michael to come see it, because it was reeking havoc and trying to break into the laundry room (see picture below!)

When he got down to where we were he couldn't believe it. The raccoon at this point was trying to climb the archway to get to the upstairs complexes. It was at this point that Michael's wife Natalie saw another one sitting on the upstairs neighbors porch like a giant cat. Everyone was too scared to go knock on the lady's door to tell her she had a raccoon, everyone except for me that is! :) We kept hearing scratching but we didn't see any raccoons on the outside and Michael joked that there were babies. I didn't believe him. So, after about 5 minutes I went up there to see what was going on and warn the lady of her raccoon friend and guess what!!!! There was a whole family!!! Michael was right! :) There were 3 babies (see one the family below) and the mom up there. At this point the lady came to the door and was like "oh that's what that sound was."
At this point, there were about 1/2 of the families of the complex out and looking at our new friends. Nicholas and Carlos' wife went and scared the raccoons and they ran out the far end of the complex. I wonder if these guys are responsible for some of the trash mess??? Anyway, you don't expect to see these guys in the middle of town, so I thought it would be interesting to share with you all!

My best friend

If you are married, take time to read the lyrics of the following song. I was listening to it on the way home from school today, and boy... it really hit home. To my lovely hubby, read the words, and know that this is exactly how I feel about you! :) I will always love you, and know that no matter what happens, I will support you in everything you do!

Love
Your wife

Tim McGraw-Best Friend

I never had no one
I could count on
Ive been let down so many times
I was tired of hurtin
So tired of searchin
til you walked into my life
It was a feelin
Id never known
And for the first time
I didn't feel alone

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
I don't know where Id be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend
You're my best friend, oh yeah

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You're right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
And I still tremble
When we touch
And oh the look in your eyes
When we make love

(Chorus 2x)

You're my best friend!

Thats it...Plain and simple!

Wedding Thank-you notes

I am sitting here writing my wedding thank you notes. Man, I can't believe how time consuming it is! But, it's definitely worth it, since we got so many nice gifts from people. I am about a fourth done, and am hoping to have it done by the end of the weekend.

Man I wish I had nicer handwriting, and that Nicholas had legible handwriting so he could help me write them.

Wish me luck!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Wow, it doesn't seem like a year since last thanksgiving. Last year at this time, Nicholas and I had only been dating for 3 months and I already knew that I wanted to marry him. This year, we are happily married and celebrating all of our "firsts" together. One of the "firsts" is today... and I am so thankful that we are sharing it together.

Tonight we are going to my parents' house for dinner, and I can't wait! I love getting together with my whole family (including my grandma, aunt, and cousin). It is a great time to fellowship with one another and eat some yummy food. On the menu tonight is turkey ,mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, veggies, pie, olives, salad, and more! Nicholas and I are responsible for the sweet potato casserole and olives... anyone have any good recipes?

I want to end with some things I am thankful for....

1. My Husband, Nicholas... he is the love of my life, and I will love him for always
2. My family and friends.... they are so supportive and without their love and help I would not be who I am today
3. I am thankful that God protected our town so much during the recent fires, the fire got 2 blocks from our house but we are safe and sound
4. I am thankful for living in such an amazing country, where we have so many freedoms.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. As you go throughout this day and week, try and think of everything you can be thankful for, and don't look at the negative. So often we focus on the "bad" things in life, when in fact we have so much more good.

Just think about it.

I am so blessed!

I am so blessed! I am the lucky lady of Sir Nicholas Andrew Head.... valiant knight and protector of the peace! :) He is my prince and the love of my life. I can imagine myself spending the rest of my life with him...and I know he is the one for me. I can't wait until that magical day when we are united for the rest of our lives.

I pray and thank God that he has blessed me so much! I can't wait to see what the future holds!
