A different phone, yet again :)

I now have a different cell phone than the one I wrote about only a few months ago.

My slider phone was cool but it got absolutely horrible reception in my house because of the double insulation. My town in general didn't have the best. It was bad to the point that it wouldn't even ring, and I would get random voicemails from people who supposedly never called me (according to my phone). I called ATT and they sent me a replacement. Same deal; the phone didn't work at all. Then we went to an actual ATT store to see if it was the sim card, but no... not that either. So, another call to ATT was in order. This time when I called they told me that I would just receive another phone of the same make/model. I got frustrated, telling the lady that it wasn't the phone I had specifically, but the model. They said they couldn't do anything and that they would have to do the process 3 more times before I could get a different phone. At this point, I told them that it was pointless to do this, because I would just send them all back. They finally agreed to transfer me to a floor manager, and while on hold lo and behold... the phone dropped the call. Luckily they already had my number and just called me back. This little dropping of the call made my case so much stronger, and after 5 minutes of discussion on the phone with the manager she put me on hold to talk to her boss. She came back and happily informed me that I had 8 choices for the new phone. I picked the best option for me, and they even threw in a free car charger.

I chose an LG CU515 Plum colored phone. It's a dark purple so it is easy to spot and it has great reception overall. I love it!!! I guess it shows to fight for what you know is right and not give up if something is really wrong with something you have bought.

I recommend this to anyone having issues. If you argue for long enough (the whole process on that day was about 3 hours) you will get what you started out to obtain.

Am I hearing God speak to me?

On Sunday, and more accurately lately in general, I have been having strong feelings that I believe are from God. I was listening to the sermon and started to really think about the status of our lives (our=nick and i) and I keep having the same thoughts over and over again in my mind:

I feel like God has big plans for us and that we are meant for so much more than what we are doing right now.

I feel like we aren't meant to be living where we are, and that we are meant to be growing closer and more in sync with God somewhere else.
I don't feel like we can be doing that to the fullest extent where we are right now.

I feel like our church (which i have gone to my whole life) is not close like a family anymore and I don't feel comfortable sharing or getting close to others there.

Same with our bible study. I don't feel comfortable sharing personal stuff and i don't feel like we are growing at all.

I just feel like we are meant for so much more than what is happening right now in our life and that starting out fresh somewhere else would be amazing for us.

All this stuff I really felt this Sunday during the church sermon, like God tugging at my heart. And it didn't stop there, it has been strong ever since.

Nick doesn't feel this way at all and thinks that if he doesn't have it on his heart than it is not really from God, because why would God tell us different things? How can this be, if I am feeling such the opposite and so strongly about it? Is it wrong for me to think these things? Am I just imagining that it is from God and it is really my own selfish desires? I really don't think it is, but I just don't see how Nick doesn't feel it it at all.

I have talked to a few close friends about this, and all agreed that you as a married couple might not feel the same way about a situation at the same time, but that you need to respect each others opinions and look to God even more to find out the answer. Another friend pointed out that it might be because of my age (he mentioned 4 different examples of people my exact age going through something similar). Who knows but God?

I just know that I feel really strongly about being meant for so much more somewhere other than here; other than po-dunk little Ramona which I have never really left. It is a big world out there, and I think that there are greater things to be done elsewhere, if we just allow God to take us as a couple somewhere not necessarily in our comfort zone. To be honest, I am sick of my comfort zone. I want to meet new people, get involved in new groups, go somewhere where everyone doesn't know me and associate me as simply "Janice's Daughter" or "One of those Jones Girls" or "Nick's Wife" if that makes sense. I want to be my own person, and to establish a new identity of the person I have become and the woman of God that I am growing into more everyday. I know that may sound like I am running away from stuff, but really I am not. I just want a chance for people to get to know the real me, without any preconceived notions.

I know that that is a lot, and if you read the whole thing I congratulate you. This is more like a vent and resting place for my thoughts for a bit, but if you have any comment feel free as well.

MMMMM BLUE CHEESE BURGERS!

I have lots to write about, but this just tops the list...

For memorial day Nick and I decided to make a special dinner and eat by ourself, since both of our families were out of town. So, we picked up all the fixin's to make blue cheese burgers (no, not premade ones, we did it all by hand). I made a side of shrimp scampi as well, but we were too stuffed to eat it. (Don't worry, I ate it the next day with my madre) I thought I would post some pictures of our creation on here for you all to drool at. :)

Here ya go!

I finally figured out something

Another semester almost done. I am happy I finally decided what I wanted to do. Child Development Master Teacher's Certificate. :) That sounds all official. Basically, this lets me be a preschool teacher, which I know I am going to LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE doing! I think my parents are finally getting onboard with it, and thats so important to me. I need to know I am making them proud. I finish in Spring 2010. I am finally certified GE so all I have left to take is CHDV courses, which is awesome because now I feel like I am going to be only doing the classes which I love!! Screw 4 year degrees... they don't mean anything anymore. I am proud of what I am doing and I want the world to know!!! :) So here it is. WORLD, I AM GETTING A CHILD DEVELOPMENT MASTER TEACHER'S CERTIFICATE. I AM GOING TO BE A PRESCHOOL TEACHER AND I AM TRUELY GOING TO ENJOY MY FUTURE JOB!

Whew, that felt good.

Some people are so stupid

So Nicholas took me to the Oceanside Pier to enjoy the ocean. He then took me to dinner at Ruby's at the end of the pier for our six month anniversary (Boy has time flown!!!) The food was great, and here are some pictures:

Anyway, what I really wanted to talk about was the fact that some people just don't know how to drive. There was a crosswalk and a stopsign for the cars. A man was crossing on the pier side and we were crossing over to the pier side. We both started walking across, and a car that was approaching the stop sign decided not to stop and kept driving until half way through the crosswalk. At this point, she HAD to stop because of the man walking across (who had started walking BEFORE she even got to the stop sign she was supposed to stop at.). At this point she rolls down her window and says to the man, Nick, and me, "Doesn't anyone know how to walk these days? People need to watch wheir their walking!" She looked so upset! I (like most times) spoke exactly what was on my mind and just shouted back to her as she drove off, "PEDESTRIANS ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY... THIS IS A CROSSWALK!!!!!"

Hahahaha! I can't believe how stupid this lady was. She was yelling at us for crossing at the crosswalk after she blew through a stop sign and didn't give us the right of way that was legally entitled to us. DUH. Talk about not only being stupid and inconsiderate, but breaking laws as well.
